Invest in supporting initiatives for trade, crafts, and services

At the country level, the main fragility of the craft sector, whose spatial inscription is diffuse (especially in rural areas), is to ensure the continuity and resumption of activity, in the face of the acceleration of the generational effect. The organization of trade in the territory is characterized by interdependent relationships, which rely on a robust catchment area. People consume locally with little leakage. Trade is thus a structuring element, which only asks to be included in territorial projects to support revitalization policies (Town Center, City Center), while adjusting to new purchasing behaviors (from local circuits to e-commerce).

To meet the challenge of adapting and maintaining local response, the aim here is to give new impetus to actions. The central challenge of these new reference places will be to create a collective dynamic, whose impact in terms of image and quality of services offered, will have a ripple effect on the revitalization of town centers and city centers, on the requalification of land (diversification of functions) and on the resumption of activities.
