The National Fish Passage Program (NFPP) provides technical and financial assistance to partners to remove instream barriers and restore aquatic connectivity, improve community safety, and support local economies. Fish passage projects benefit communities by reducing flood risk, improving recreational opportunities, and improving roads while supporting native fish populations and aquatic ecosystems. NFPP project examples include obsolete and dangerous infrastructure removals, culvert replacements, floodplain restoration, and the installation of fishways. It is estimated that for every $1 million invested by the program, $1.5 million in value is added to the economy.The program is delivered through U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) field offices nationwide. Local Service staff work with partners to identify and implement projects. Projects are based on sound science, advance the Service mission, and promote aquatic connectivity. The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The over-arching goal of this R25 program is to support educational activities that foster a better understanding of biomedical, behavioral and clinical research and its implications. To accomplish the stated over-arching goal, this FOA will support creative educational activities with a primary focus on research experiences for high school or undergraduate students or science teachers during the summer academic break. O prêmio K02 oferece de três a cinco anos de suporte salarial e "tempo protegido" para cientistas recém-independentes que podem demonstrar a necessidade de um período de foco intensivo em pesquisa como meio de aprimorar suas carreiras de pesquisa. Cada programa de prêmio de carreira de cientista independente deve ser adaptado para atender às necessidades individuais do candidato. Este Anúncio de Oportunidade de Financiamento (FOA) é projetado especificamente para candidatos que propõem pesquisas que não envolvem a liderança de um ensaio clínico independente, um estudo de viabilidade de ensaio clínico ou um ensaio clínico auxiliar separado. Os candidatos a este FOA estão autorizados a propor experiência de pesquisa em um ensaio clínico liderado por outro investigador. Os candidatos que propõem um ensaio clínico ou um ensaio clínico auxiliar como investigador principal devem se inscrever no FOA complementar.

The purpose of the NIH Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) program is to increase and maintain a strong cohort of new and talented, NIH-supported, independent investigators. This program is designed to facilitate a timely transition of outstanding postdoctoral researchers with a research and/or clinical doctorate degree from mentored, postdoctoral research positions to independent, tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions. The program will provide independent NIH research support during this transition in order to help awardees to launch competitive, independent research careers.
