Existing non-agricultural economic activities and their development can put pressure on water resources and aquatic environments. The Water Agency takes this into account in its intervention program and supports non-agricultural economic actors in a global approach to water management at their site level, in order to reduce their impact on water resources and aquatic environments.
This deliberation presents the intervention principles and objectives of the Agency regarding non-agricultural economic activities: a global approach to water management on economic sites aimed at reducing pollution and water withdrawals, managing rainwater and, where appropriate, restoring the ecological continuity of watercourses. More specifically, it sets specific objectives for the following titles:
-fighting pollution: in this context, the Water Agency promotes clean technical solutions for process changes aimed at reducing pollution at the source, in line with the environmental objectives of the 2022 – 2027 Water Development and Management Master Plan (SDAGE).
-reducing water withdrawals: in this context, the Water Agency prioritizes logics of consumption reduction, then reuse and/or recycling of industrial water or rainwater from rainwater management.
