IH MIE - Open Call

Cascade funding (FSTP – Financial Support to Third Parties). The IH-MIE Open Call is seeking innovative SME-led projects that address one or more of the programme's six strategic hydrogen mobility challenges: fuel cell cost and durability, refuelling infrastructure, supply chain and logistics, integration with other mobility solutions, on-board hydrogen storage, and hydrogen distribution. Selected projects should contribute to strengthening Europe's hydrogen mobility value chain while demonstrating a clear pathway from TRL 6 up to TRL 9. The call aims to support projects capable of overcoming key deployment barriers and accelerating the adoption of hydrogen-powered mobility across Europe.

Frequently asked questions
Do European funds have to be repaid?
Non-repayable grants are not returned if the project is carried out and reported according to the rules. Loans and financial instruments are a different matter and are repaid; in the assessment we clarify what kind of aid each call is.
Do I need a consortium with partners from other countries?
It depends on the programme. Many Horizon Europe lines require an international consortium; others allow a single beneficiary. We find and coordinate the partners when needed.
How long does the process take?
Several months usually pass between the call and the decision. That is why we start with the assessment: to target the right call with time to spare and not arrive late.
Do you only work with large organisations?
No. We also support small and medium-sized organisations; many programmes are designed precisely for the third sector and SMEs.
