Lo scopo di questo avviso di opportunità di finanziamento (NOFO) è sollecitare domande per progetti pilota volti a chiarire il ruolo di proteine poco studiate nelle malattie rare. I premi supporteranno la generazione di dati preliminari e/o strumenti relativi a proteine poco studiate idonee. Viene fornito un elenco di proteine idonee, che sono membri di famiglie di proteine 'druggable' con una nota associazione a una malattia rara. Questo NOFO è inteso a dare il via alla ricerca su proteine poco studiate associate a malattie rare e a fornire ai richiedenti finanziamenti sufficienti per eseguire lavori biochimici e/o biologici di base per approfondire la caratterizzazione di proteine poco studiate nel contesto delle malattie rare.
