​​The Division of Runaway and Homeless Youth will award one cooperative agreement on a competitive basis for a period of three years to operate the National Communication System (NCS) for Runaway and Homeless Youth Program. The NCS is a dedicated toll-free, US national communication system that provides information, referral services, crisis intervention, prevention approaches, and other supportive services to vulnerable, at-risk, and runaway and homeless youth, and their families or legal guardians. The purpose of the NCS is to a) prevent youth from running away and becoming homeless, b) link youth with a family member or guardian, and/or an available resource that can provide and/or assist the youth in acquiring needed services, and c) increase prevention education to reduce runaway incidents and youth homelessness.​

FY 2026 SNAP Earnings Verification Support Grant

The USDA’s Food and Nutrition Administration (FNA) works to nourish those in need through financially sound programs that promote health and work, as well as champion the productivity of American agriculture. The purpose of these grants is to support SNAP State agencies in meeting these requirements and testing different income verification services to determine the most cost-effective solution. The EVS grants support SNAP State agencies with their efforts to electronically verify the earned income of SNAP applicants and recipients. States may use grant funds to contract with commercial vendors to use third-party income databases (TPIDs) that provide electronic verification of employment and earnings in support of these functions. FNA announces, through this Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA), up to $38 million in grant funds for the fiscal year (FY) 2026 SNAP EVS grant opportunity. . The NOFA provides the maximum allocation amount for each State. Funds are being offered noncompetitively using a formula-based distribution approach and will be available to the 53 State agencies that administer SNAP. The proposed award period of performance is 24 months beginning September 2026 through September 30, 2028.

The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of research funded by the National Science Foundation. REU projects involve students in meaningful ways in ongoing research programs or in research projects specifically designed for the REU program. This solicitation features two mechanisms for supporting student research: REU Sites are based on independent proposals to initiate and conduct projects that engage a number of students in research. REU Sites may be based in a single discipline or academic department or may offer interdisciplinary or multi-department research opportunities with a coherent intellectual theme. REU Supplements may be included as a component of proposals for new or renewal NSF grants or cooperative agreements or may be requested for ongoing NSF-funded research projects. REU projects with an international dimension are welcome. Undergraduate student participants in either REU Sites or REU Supplements must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals,or U.S. permanent residents. Students do not apply to NSF to participate in REU activities, and NSF does not select students for the opportunities. The “CyberNext: Advanced Cybersecurity and AI Readiness” program strengthens Albania’s cybersecurity and AI capabilities by leveraging U.S. technology, standards, and expertise. The program moves beyond basic awareness to build practical skills, improve resilience against digital threats, and deepen understanding of U.S. leadership in technological innovation. This initiative builds on previous American Corners programming in cybersecurity and AI that established a cohort of young people with baseline knowledge and awareness. It complements ongoing U.S. Embassy efforts to strengthen Albania's cyber resilience and digital infrastructure in alignment with American technology standards. The program creates a foundation for sustained engagement with Albanian youth and professionals who will shape the country’s digital future. Increase public support for enhanced cybersecurity capabilities and greater responsibility for regional security and stability. Project Objectives : The project should engage at least 100 participants per Corner in cybersecurity and AI programming activities that build digital protection skills, foster teamwork, and enhance Albania’s overall cyber and AI readiness in support of U.S. leadership and global security. Suggested activities may include workshops through simulations and scenario-based learning, hands-on labs, tabletop exercises, competitions, innovation sprints etc. At a minimum, projects should address the following objectives: Objective 1 – Advanced Threat Detection and Response Skills: Equip participants with intermediate-level practical skills to recognize, prevent, and respond to cyber threats, drawing on U.S. frameworks and best practices. Objective 2 – Responsible and Secure AI Deployment: Build participants’ understanding of AI risks and opportunities in cybersecurity, including how AI can both enable and counter attacks, and develop their ability to design and apply AI solutions ethically and securely, informed by U.S. standards and AI ethics guidance. Objective 3 – Operational Resilience and Professional Readiness: Strengthen participants’ critical thinking, teamwork, and decision‑making under pressure through realistic cyber and AI scenarios, preparing them to operate effectively in incident response teams and contribute to Albania’s broader cyber resilience.

Projekt Hintergrund, Ziele und Vorgaben Die American Corners in Albanien haben eine konstante Erfolgsbilanz bei der Bereitstellung von Programmen zur Jugendunternehmerschaft und wirtschaftlichen Förderung – von Englischkursen zur Verbesserung der Beschäftigungsfähigkeit über Coding- und Tech-Skills-Bootcamps bis hin zu strukturierten Gründerzentren – wobei jede Iteration Jahr für Jahr mehr Teilnehmer erreicht, sich über alle drei Corners ausdehnt und messbare Ergebnisse erzielt, einschließlich Teilnehmern, die eigene registrierte Unternehmen gegründet haben. Zuletzt veranstaltete der American Corner Tirana die Gründung des Young Entrepreneurship and Innovation Committee der Amerikanischen Handelskammer in Albanien, wodurch die Rolle des Corners als Drehscheibe für das US-albanische Geschäftsengagement weiter gestärkt wurde. Zusammengenommen hat dieses Programm gezeigt, dass ein strukturiertes, von Mentoren geleitetes Engagement in den American Corners funktioniert und zweifellos gut von den Zielgruppen angenommen wird. Es hat auch eine klare Lücke aufgezeigt: Die Teilnehmer benötigen ein längerfristiges Engagement, direkte Verbindungen zu US-Geschäftsnetzwerken und konkrete Wege, um ihre Ideen nicht nur zu entwickeln, sondern auch umzusetzen. StartUP Lab soll eine direkte Antwort auf diese Lücke sein.
