Improving knowledge of biodiversity

Knowledge is an essential prerequisite for any action to protect, conserve and raise awareness about biodiversity. This involves supporting actions to acquire and enhance knowledge of fauna, flora, environments and their functioning, within the framework of a regional strategy for acquiring and improving naturalistic knowledge.
To this end, the Region wishes to mobilize all stakeholders in the development of knowledge, to help analyze and make reliable and understandable information available to all, and to promote its enhancement and harmonization.

Local authorities and their groupings (in particular mixed syndicates), public establishments, public interest groupings, natural area managers, associations, companies.

Types of projects supported

• Support for field inventories, station assessments, monitoring and surveillance included in the action plan of regional strategies,
• Acquisition and development of computer applications and databases (Species Information and Location System -SILENE-, Natural Heritage Inventory Information System -SINP-)3,
• Collection, integration and structuring of data and metadata,
• Analysis and valorization of produced data/studies (red lists, inventories of Ecological, Faunal and Floral Interest Natural Zones ZNIEFF…
