Ensure the short-term and long-term viability of cinemas - strengthened automatic support and operating advances

Cinemas are permanently impacted by the implementation of health measures and the postponement of filming and film releases, particularly concerning foreign blockbusters, which will result in a significant decrease in revenue.

This aid corresponds to Measure 1: Strengthened automatic support and ad hoc operating advances dedicated to covering cash flow needs

In order to preserve the dense network of cinemas that guarantees the distribution of diverse works throughout the territory, operators will be able to benefit from additional financial support corresponding to a normal year of generated support.

The amount of aid is calculated, for each cinema establishment, based on the automatic support generated by the establishment during the three years 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The aid will be paid in two forms:

1° payment to the operator of the establishment of a subsidy.

These sums can be used to cover cash flow needs that do not give rise to a mobilization of the automatic account (rents, salaries, utilities, financial costs, repayment of bank loans or PGE ...) which establishments could face during this period.
