Create educational tools, environmental and sustainable development education materials (investment)

The "MAPTAM" law of January 2014 and the "NOTRe" law of August 2015 have entrusted the Regions with enhanced responsibilities relating to territorial planning and sustainable development, biodiversity protection, climate, air quality, and energy. In this context, the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region is undertaking several major projects that contribute to the regional ecological and energy transition, which requires citizen and collective involvement to succeed.

The success of this transition requires all audiences in Occitanie to understand its challenges. Education is a condition for the success of this transition. Environmental and sustainable development education (EEDD) is a broad education that draws on information, awareness-raising, training, education, and citizen participation to involve people in action, at all ages of life.

EEDD thus explores, in a cross-cutting manner, fields that are environmental, social, economic, or cultural: energy, biodiversity, water, waste, mobility, food, consumption, housing, solidarity, health, sport, heritage.
