Create a Regional Nature Reserve

You are one or more owner(s), a local authority, or an association and you wish to mobilize for biodiversity by protecting a remarkable natural space. The Region can support your initiative within the framework of its RNR competence, and assist you in classifying this space. This classification, for a period of 10 years, aims to protect and enhance natural heritage.

This is an initiative governed by the Code de l'environnement , with the objective of halting biodiversity loss by:

• The protection of sites of strong heritage interest,
• Consideration of ecological continuities beyond the boundaries of the site,
• The creation of a tool for awareness and information. Public knowledge is indeed key to biodiversity protection.

What is it?

• a classification for 10 years
• a regulation with surveillance and police powers,
• mandatory management (development of a management plan)
• an information and awareness space.
