Diversify local agricultural and food models to increase the territory's capacity

Viticulture is the leading agricultural sector in Cœur Entre-deux-Mers. The position of this sector is the result of several components: history, terroir, place of appellations, commercial and export boom of Bordeaux wines, …

Today, this sector is increasingly subject to numerous risks (decrease in consumption, export difficulties, climatic hazards, environmental image, …) although collective and individual work is undertaken to make it evolve (HVE, AB approaches, reasoned management, …) and diversify it.

In addition, new forms of agricultural production have developed to meet different needs (collective catering, training, social, subsistence farming, awareness, …) and are generally carried out by non-agricultural structures (local authorities, associations, …).

Finally, and the Territorial Food Program has shown it, the coverage of food needs by the territory's own production capacity remains marginal. Acting for food also means supporting farmers in Cœur Entre-deux-Mers to process, market their products and find local outlets.

The promotion of these local products and quality products also makes it possible to raise consumer awareness in the territory and make these products accessible.
