Engage in an ecological transition within my community: reduce heat islands through biodiversity

Based on nationally shared guidelines, "Territoires engagés pour la nature" (Territories committed to nature) is implemented in willing regions with local support provided by the Regional Biodiversity Agencies, or a regional collective.

The "Territoire engagé pour la Nature" program aims to foster, recognize, and support territories committed to a progressive approach in favor of biodiversity.

"TEN" recognizes the importance of community involvement in the recovery of biodiversity, and wishes to provide support and visibility to territories wishing to commit or develop their actions on this theme. Faced with climate change, valuing and conserving biodiversity also ensures health, well-being, and safety for citizens of today and tomorrow.

Specifically, commitment to the TEN approach allows communities to:

• Benefit from support from the animation unit and relay partners (CEN, Cerema, LPO...) to develop, formalize their action plan, and carry out their projects. TEN recognition can also provide access to technical support on specific topics and emerging themes (dark sky, nature-based solutions...).
