Enriching archival service collections

Presentation of the scheme:

The aid is granted on a one-off and annual basis. It allows for the acquisition of isolated original documents, sets of documents, iconographic collections, audiovisual collections, maps, plans, old printed works, and all other documentary typologies corresponding to the legal definition of archives, up to a limit of 50% of the purchase price.

Only items with proven local heritage interest are eligible.

Priority is given to the acquisition of archival collections. However, the major heritage interest of an isolated document may also justify the awarding of a grant.

Award and payment procedures:

Applications are processed by the Archival Heritage Protection Office of the Interministerial Service of Archives of France (SIAF). The amount of the grant is modulated according to the financial capacity of the local authority and the SIAF's acquisition credits.

Payment is made after receipt of the complete application file from the local authority and once the purchase has been paid for by the local authority (https://francearchives.fr/fr/article/91645360).
