Emergence of economic projects within heritage sites - Reinventing Heritage

The "Reinventing Heritage" program aims to support the development of economic, tourist, and cultural activities within remarkable buildings, with the goals of heritage preservation, attractiveness, and territorial animation.

Launched in 2020, Reinventing Heritage is an engineering scheme led by the Banque des territoires, the Agence nationale de la cohésion des territoires, and Atout France with the Ministry of Culture, to facilitate the emergence of economic projects within heritage sites, around various uses.

The program's objectives are fourfold:

• Renovate heritage sites with the ambition of creating innovative places for life and territorial animation, by developing new uses for local populations and tourists (cultural, event, accommodation, etc.);
• Support public and private owners in defining their valorization project, and define the conditions for their feasibility, with all or part of the management entrusted to private operators;
