Innovate by supporting local production and consumption

A major asset of the Pays de l'Isle en Périgord lies in its quality of life, supported by healthy and local food. Given its place in the local economy, agriculture is a structuring and transversal issue for the vitality of the region. Farmers represent the
first link in a chain connecting rural and urban areas, from local production to local consumption.

Faced with many difficulties, the aim is to strengthen the 'supply', particularly through the agricultural sector, in its orientation towards quality and proximity, while raising awareness and coordinating 'demand', that of residents, students, workers and tourists, ...

To do this, the territory adopts a transversal strategy that takes into account all the issues, worked on within the PAT Isle en Périgord (Territorial Food Project): land and production, logistics, consumption, awareness, animation and coordination. The aim here is to support local producers and project leaders in their practices, to encourage experimentation to consolidate 'short supply chains', by emphasizing the quality of products and know-how.
