Invest to develop intermodality around train stations and railway stops

The Pays de l’Isle en Périgord is a “valley territory” that has leveraged this characteristic by making its “internal” East-West railway communication axis functional, while strengthening its “external” connections with the Bordeaux Metropolis and Bergerac in particular.
The train connects and links the territory, with its network of 7 stations, its railway shuttle, and its main “locomotive” city. The train enhances the attractiveness of many secondary hubs (employment centers), in a palpable “post-Covid” effect, which establishes the practice of teleworking and the development of lifestyle choices in the countryside… provided that one is never too far from a station, on foot, by bike, by bus, by car, by carpooling, or by electric car.
Investments necessary for the development of this intermodality, which are also meeting points between people, will be supported here. Around train stations and railway stops, but also in the centralities of market towns included in the links between stations and rural areas.
This issue is essential to strengthen access to employment and services (public, sports, leisure, cultural, etc.) within and outside the region for residents, while consolidating policies for the development of sustainable and “connected” tourism throughout the territory.
