Mobility / transport / Public transport and road traffic optimization
The lack of secure infrastructure can be a major obstacle to young people walking and cycling. In order to make high schools more accessible by active modes of transport, the Region wishes to support development operations aimed at improving their access and thus encourage high school students to walk and cycle in a favorable environment. This action is part of a more global approach supported by the Region in favor of school ecomobility.
The scheme is aimed at any local authority competent to carry out development dedicated to active modes (communes, EPCI, Department), with the exception of EPCIs with more than 150,000 inhabitants and their member communes, which will not be able to request co-financing via these intervention rules.
Are eligible:
- developments located within a 9 km radius around public and private high schools allowing direct access to the establishment or the elimination of a proven discontinuity on a route used by high school students;
- Developments on dedicated sites should be prioritized. Failing that, the project must be part of a more global reflection based on a re-evaluation of the traffic plan at the commune level or on an active modes master plan (road reallocation, access restrictions, direction of traffic);
