Demos: Social-oriented music and orchestral education program

A cultural democratization project aimed at children from neighborhoods covered by urban policy or rural areas with insufficient cultural institutions.

Demos aims to enrich children's educational journey, promote the transmission of classical heritage, and contribute to their successful social integration. It is built on strong professional cooperation between cultural and social actors.

With overall pedagogical and artistic coherence, it offers classical music learning to children who, for economic, social, and cultural reasons, do not have easy access to this practice in existing institutions.

Each child is given a musical instrument for three years. Supervised by music and social professionals, they attend weekly classes of 3.5 hours on average and regularly meet other children from the same area for orchestral rehearsals ("tutti"). A major concert is organized at the end of the year in an emblematic location in the territory.
