Mobilizing the territory to face ecological challenges

Local stakeholders are mobilizing around territorial climate-air-energy plans and initiatives are developing on the management of the impacts of climate change (water resources, marine submersion). However, the ecological transition is a challenge for the Pays du Bessin au Virois territory. Responding to 11 priority objectives of the SRADDET and taking into consideration the findings and scientific recommendations of the Norman IPCC, this sheet aims to support the ecological transition of the territory, so that it can reduce its environmental impacts, the adaptation of populations to climate change as well as actions to mitigate it and strengthen its energy and food autonomy. The retreat of the coastline, the preservation of the environment, the protection of natural spaces and biodiversity, the preservation of resources and reuse, are all themes that can be developed via the projects supported by this action sheet.

Aid objectives:

• Preserve the territory's resources (water, energy, raw materials) and reduce externalities (waste, pollution, greenhouse gases).
• Develop autonomy and short food supply chains.
• Raise awareness among citizens, communities and businesses about sustainable development issues.
• Change the behavior of local stakeholders.
