Implementation of waste heat recovery installations

ADEME subsidizes, via the Heat Fund, waste heat recovery installations based on technical conditions:

• quantity of heat recovered > 1 GWh/year (in mainland France);
• minimum threshold for energy and environmental performance of installations;
• gross payback period (TRB) on project investment > 3 years.

In addition, it is necessary to have carried out a preliminary study beforehand (energy audit or study of the evolution of the energy mix supplemented by a feasibility study), in order to confirm the consistency of the operation with the decarbonization roadmap of the industrial site and/or the company.

Since 2020, ADEME's aid has been articulated with the Energy Savings Certificates (CEE) scheme. The modalities are specified in the eligibility and financing conditions.

Taking the step of heat recovery will allow you to:

• have visibility on heat costs;
• access high environmental performance by substituting this resource for other non-renewable heat sources;
• benefit from proven technologies with high energy efficiency;
