The Agency may grant financial participation to non-agricultural economic activities that carry out studies and development works in existing urban areas for rainwater management, primarily through integrated and sustainable rainwater management facilities. These facilities aim to disconnect rainwater from sanitation networks to limit urban runoff during rainfall, a source of pollution for aquatic environments.
Hierarchically, the Agency encourages:
- the disconnection of these waters from the sanitation network, their reuse, buffering, and infiltration at the source by promoting the creation or restoration of vegetated areas supporting biodiversity and acting as a factor for climate change mitigation and adaptation ("green" techniques),
- in case of insufficient infiltration, the buffering, storage, and low-flow discharge of these rainwater, preferably towards a surface hydrographic network or a specific rainwater network.
