Install biomass/wood heat production facilities

ADEME invites project leaders to engage in an "EnRChoix" type approach, prioritizing sobriety, the pooling of production means, and the mobilization of certain RES&R.

Thus, before making an investment in renewable or recovered heat, the project leader must demonstrate that the following points have been taken into account:

1. Need reduction: reflection and implementation of sobriety and energy efficiency measures on buildings or processes before sizing the biomass boiler room.
2. Pooling of needs: connection to an existing virtuous heat network when possible, or study of the potential for creating a heat network to pool the renewable heat production tool across several buildings.
3. Waste heat recovery: study of locally available waste heat sources and their adequacy with needs.
4. Consideration of other locally available RES: study of geothermal and solar thermal potential and their adequacy with needs (alone or in addition to biomass).

• Biomass is an abundant but limited source of renewable energy, so it is important to use it optimally and where it is the most relevant energy to meet needs.
