Redeveloping parish enclosures and cemeteries

NATURE OF ELIGIBLE PROJECTS

The parish enclosure, around or contiguous to the church, and the cemetery are communal spaces that require the full attention of elected officials and citizens. Their maintenance, the heritage they enjoy, but also the emotion and interest they arouse among inhabitants are all challenges for communities. Furthermore, the evolution of funeral practices, urban pressure and environmental requirements make these spaces places in full transformation.

The Department wishes to support communities that wish to engage in a global and sustainable redevelopment approach for their parish enclosure or cemetery.

Eligible projects are the redevelopment of parish enclosures or cemeteries with the aim of promoting their maintenance (0 phyto), preserving and enhancing their built, funerary and arboreal heritage, and making the church accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Cemetery extension projects contiguous to the existing one will be eligible if a global redevelopment of the existing one, according to the same eligibility criteria, is envisaged.

FINANCIAL TERMS
