Strengthening the protection of overseas communities' buildings against cyclonic winds

Ecological ambition of the funded project

With the aim of adapting to climate change, the green fund supports overseas territories in reducing the vulnerability of their buildings in the event of a cyclonic crisis.

The construction of public buildings to paracyclonic standards and the reinforcement of existing buildings make it possible to increase resilience to crises, preserve human lives and limit damage and pollution caused by the tearing off of the most fragile elements of constructions (roofs and openings). This concerns public buildings that house the population during cyclonic crises or that host crisis management centers.
