Strengthening local services and developing the territory for a welcoming and dynamic living environment

Description

The Pays du Bessin en Virois benefits from a quality of life linked to an environment perceived as preserved and still little sensitive to climatic hazards (with the exception of the coastal zone exposed to marine submersion risks). It is structured around poles whose service levels differ according to the sectors, with some towns having difficulty maintaining local services (administrations, shops, care, childcare, etc.). The demographic evolution of certain areas of the territory leads to the rejuvenation, and sometimes the increase, of the population. This generates an increased demand for reception in schools and early childhood establishments. Urban development is essentially in the form of subdivisions, which raises the question of the consumption of agricultural land and the integration of neo-rural residents. An evolution of the tourist accommodation offer and a development of second homes limit the rental housing stock. The disparity of the territory between North and South is also felt in access to local services. The operations supported under this action sheet are consistent with 13 objectives of the SRADDET, notably the support for socio-demographic changes, the reduction of soil artificialization and the strengthening of centrality functions in medium-sized towns and structuring boroughs.
