Securing pedestrian movements and maintaining accessibility: urban and pedestrian construction sites (Training)

This training will enable you to secure pedestrian movements around your construction sites and maintain the continuity of accessible routes. After theoretical contributions on the challenges of making construction sites accessible, the regulatory framework and good practices, concrete case studies and on-site awareness will be offered.

Pedestrian paths in neighborhoods under construction can be difficult for everyone to use. The implementation of urban construction sites is characterized both by a public space where many users and multiple uses coexist, but also by the intervention of a multitude of actors. The articulation between these different stakeholders (road project management, building project management, companies and network concessionaires) requires continuous monitoring and training on this issue.

Taking pedestrians into account during urban construction work must meet two essential objectives: guaranteeing their safety and comfort, with regard to the dangers linked to work and traffic; ensuring the continuity of the travel chain and maintaining its accessibility.
