1. General presentation of the AQACIA program
The "Air Quality Improvement: Understand, Innovate, Act" (AQACIA) program aims to support R&D projects to understand and improve indoor and outdoor air quality.
This 4th call for research proposals (APR) of the AQACIA program is divided into 5 parts (full description in the file "APR AQACIA - Specifications - 2026"):
1st part – particulate pollution (in particular ultrafine particles [PUF] or PM0.1 and PM1). This concerns the emission characteristics of particles according to their source, their transformations in the ambient air, concentrations in the air and the effect of these exposures.
2nd part – ozone pollution (its evolution, its impacts and its management in connection with climate change). This concerns the knowledge of precursors and processes controlling ozone (O₃) levels, the search for solutions to reduce O₃ levels and the study of its impacts.
3rd part – issue of plant protection products (PPP). This concerns the detection and modeling of PPP (emission and fate in the air), human and environmental exposure.
