Supporting the hydrogen sector

The European and national dynamic announces hydrogen as a relevant solution for the decarbonization of greenhouse gas-emitting activities, such as the transport and industry sectors.

The Regional Hydrogen Plan of the Region is the result of a collaborative public-private effort whose ambition is to provide visibility on the directions to take to support the hydrogen sector in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region and meet the challenges of decarbonization and integration of renewable energies. This document presents the territorial context favorable to hydrogen, defines priorities and quantified objectives as well as actions to be undertaken to enable the development of the hydrogen sector.

The 4 priorities of this Regional Hydrogen Plan are the decarbonization of mobility, the decarbonization of industry, the production of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen, and the structuring of a sector that creates activities and jobs.

In this context, the types of projects concerned are:

• hydrogen production;
• hydrogen transport, storage and distribution;
• deployment of the most relevant hydrogen uses;
• research and development;
• opportunity studies;
• feasibility studies.
