Support awareness, education, or training actions for ecological and energy transition

The Occitanie Region alongside environmental and sustainable development education (EEDD) actors to raise awareness among all audiences about the challenges of ecological and energy transition.

Context and objectives

The "MAPTAM" law of January 2014 and the "NOTRe" law of August 2015 have entrusted Regions with strengthened competencies relating to territorial planning and sustainable development, biodiversity protection, climate, air quality, and energy. In this context, the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region is undertaking several major projects that contribute to the regional ecological and energy transition, which requires citizen and collective involvement to succeed.

The success of this transition requires understanding its challenges by all audiences in Occitanie. Education is a condition for the success of this transition. Environmental and sustainable development education (EEDD) is a broad education that draws on the fields of information, awareness-raising, training, education, and citizen participation to involve people in action, at all ages of life.
