Support for the development of hiking trails labeled by the Department of Vendée

Departmental Tourism Development Plan 2022 - 2028

The Departmental Plan for Walking and Hiking Routes (P.D.I.P.R.) is the legal tool for preserving rural paths, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Departments. To date, 3,600 km of trails constitute this plan in Vendée.

As part of the departmental tourism development plan 2022-2028, the Department intends to develop outdoor activities, particularly hiking, with the aim of:

• continuing the qualification of the hiking offer for the granting of the departmental label to certain trails;
• equipping labeled trails to best meet the needs of hikers;
• promoting a structured and quality hiking offer throughout the territory.

The scheme aims to strengthen the tourist attractiveness of the department by creating or improving facilities for welcoming hikers on labeled trails.
