Support for rural and urban centers

In the interest of territorial balance, this scheme supports municipalities exercising central functions to help them develop or re-establish these central functions and improve the quality of life through the implementation of a global project. This scheme supports centers that have defined a strategy for revitalizing or developing centrality or wish to engage in this process:

Rural centers are defined as follows:

• Presence of at least 15 intermediate-type facilities (INSEE definition);
• Population of less than 8,000 inhabitants for the year 2013;
• Belonging to a living area of less than 100,000 inhabitants.

Urban centers correspond to the central municipalities of the polarities identified in the functional urban framework of the SRADDET.
