Aid for the acquisition of clean utility vehicles

For direct aid to road transport companies to encourage them to adopt new practices in a logic of reducing CO2 emissions. Up to €15,000 for a new vehicle.

The Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region makes energy transition and achieving carbon neutrality one of its priorities. The aid scheme for the acquisition of clean utility vehicles is thus part of measure 11 of the Climate Plan, which aims to "encourage the emergence of new practices within road transport companies in a logic of reducing CO2 emissions".

Trucks account for 5% of the territory's greenhouse gas emissions and vans (Light Commercial Vehicles, LCVs) account for 4%. Electric, hydrogen or bioGNV vehicles significantly reduce these emissions compared to their thermal equivalents, making them one of the main tools for the energy transition of freight transport.

In addition to largely contributing to carbon emissions, vans and heavy goods vehicles contribute to the degradation of air quality in cities. The consequences can be observed, for example, in local emissions data, as ATMOSUD estimates that vans contribute 22% of Nox emissions from the transport sector in the City of Nice.
