Facilitating Collective Actions in Circular Economy and Waste Management

Context:

The NOTRe law has entrusted the Regions with the development of the Regional Waste Prevention and Management Plan (PRPGD), which must enable the achievement of national objectives set by the Energy Transition for Green Growth law. This plan defines and coordinates all actions over 12 years to achieve waste prevention and management objectives. It includes a Regional Action Plan for the Circular Economy (PRAEC), which was developed in consultation and mobilizes stakeholders around 6 axes: governance, economic systems, territories, public policies, research and innovation, and waste.

In order to foster the emergence of new actions and support projects from regional stakeholders, the Region adopted three types of aid on July 20, 2017, to contribute to the development of waste prevention and recovery, and to concretely engage Occitanie in the transition towards a more circular economy:

• Aid for the implementation of local projects
