National Fund for Preventive Archaeology (FNAP) As part of a development project, preventive excavation aims, through studies, field and laboratory work, to collect archaeological data present on the site, analyze it, ensure its understanding, and present all results in a report. The developer is the project owner of the excavation and ensures its funding. For certain preventive excavations, developers can benefit from financial support from the State, in the form of coverage or, where applicable, subsidies, via the National Fund for Preventive Archaeology (FNAP).
