(P) Prior authorizations and declarations for work on historical monuments

Each year, several thousand buildings and movable objects protected as historical monuments (MH) are subject to studies and work for maintenance, repair, restoration, or safety. Owners of buildings or movable objects classified or listed as historical monuments can, under certain conditions, benefit from subsidies for these studies and works.

Owners can, under certain conditions, benefit from subsidies granted by the Ministry of Culture: the Ministry of Culture supports owners of properties classified or listed as historical monuments, responsible for the conservation of their building or movable object.

Grant applications are submitted to / addressed to the decentralized services of the Ministry of Culture (DRAC/DAC/DCJS) by the project owners responsible for the planned work on properties protected as historical monuments.

The decentralized service of the Ministry of Culture assesses the general interest of the operation, the priority of the work, and the application of modulation criteria for the rate to define the eligibility and the amount of the subsidy, taking into account available credits.

Thus, the average subsidy rates are as follows:
