For a region with a deep Mediterranean and maritime identity, resilience to climate change and the desired transition to a virtuous development model necessarily involve the enhancement, protection and management of its marine and coastal natural heritage.

A meeting place between land and sea, the regional coastline is indeed an area with high stakes for spatial planning and its economic development, which human activities and climate change seriously impact. All activities developed in the coastal zone depend directly or indirectly on the environmental quality of marine and coastal environments.
