Disseminating GHG assessments to SMEs and ETIs by financial actors

1. Context

Faced with climate challenges and increasing demands for sobriety and energy efficiency, ADEME (French Agency for Ecological Transition) identifies a need for strengthened articulation between public aid schemes and private financing solutions.

Banks and insurance companies, through their close relationship with a wide range of companies – including those not yet fully committed to the transition – play a key role in broadening the circle of beneficiaries and reaching new audiences.

ADEME therefore wishes to strengthen its partnerships with financial actors, particularly banking and insurance institutions, in order to mobilize complementary levers to support companies in their transformation.

By combining technical expertise and financing capacity, ADEME and its financial partners intend to encourage the commitment of a greater number of economic actors, in order to amplify actions undertaken in favor of a low-carbon, resilient and competitive economy.

2. Purpose of the EOI

The purpose of this call for expressions of interest (EOI) is to select financial actors to conduct a pilot experiment for the deployment of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) assessments (Bilan GES or BEGES) among their client companies (SMEs and ETIs), at a regional or infra-regional level.
