Funding for training for library professionals or occasional collaborators

Organizations that organize training for library staff, salaried or occasional, as well as other professionals working in the field of books, reading, and the fight against illiteracy, can be helped to develop training programs. The Ministry of Culture can thus allocate a subsidy to them.

Training specifically for library professionals or occasional collaborators exists. They are provided by different organizations:

• library career training centers
• professional or interprofessional associations approved to offer training
• regional book structures approved for training
• etc.

The Ministry of Culture works to develop books and reading and provides financial support to organizations offering such training.

→ Objectives of the approach

Support for the training of library staff is part of the staff qualification policy, in collaboration with the CNFPT, INET, ENSSIB and CRFCB. Any approved training organization is eligible. Support for professional days, with the exception of university conferences…
