CYCLING POLICY

Objective

Cycling has become increasingly popular in recent years for tourism and leisure. The enthusiasm for everyday cycling, used for commuting to work or for leisure, which was already well underway, was confirmed after the 2020 lockdown.

Given the evolution of practices, departmental support efforts should focus on cycle tourism and, above all, everyday cycling.

Eligible Operations

The Department's regulations cover 2 orientations: "support for cycle tourism" and "securing everyday cycling," which are broken down as follows:

• finalization of the "Véloroutes Voies Vertes" network: VVV routes at a supra-municipal level, with a maximum subsidizable amount of €300,000 per km and €1 million per structure.
• link between major VVV routes and nearby areas: Development of soft mobility links and facilities for cycle tourists between the EV17 or V63 VVV routes and nearby areas, within a radius of approximately 5 km.
• securing everyday cycling: Cycling infrastructure (such as cycle lanes or cycle paths...) on routes that the Department deems structuring and relevant within the framework of a Master Cycling Plan (SDC), developed by the EPCI, in consultation with the Department, for sections outside departmental roads, and outside...
