Preserving and restoring marine biodiversity

For a region with a deep Mediterranean and maritime identity, resilience to climate change and the desired transition to a virtuous development model necessarily involve the enhancement, protection, and management of its marine and coastal natural heritage.

As a meeting point between land and sea, the regional coastline is indeed an area with high stakes for land use planning and its economic development, which human activities and climate change seriously impact. All activities developed in the coastal zone are directly or indirectly dependent on the environmental quality of marine and coastal environments.
