Preserve and restore marine biodiversity

For a region with a deep Mediterranean and maritime identity, resilience to climate change and the desired transition towards a virtuous development model necessarily involve the enhancement, protection, and management of its marine and coastal natural heritage.

As a meeting space between land and sea, the regional coastline is indeed an area of high stakes for land-use planning and economic development, which are seriously impacted by pressures related to human activities and climate change. All activities developed in the coastal zone depend, in fact, directly or indirectly, on the environmental quality of marine and coastal environments.
