Globally strengthening the resilience of the regional territory and its ecological functionalities

In the context of climate change and more generally global changes, the natural areas of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur are subject to significant pressures linked to urbanization, over-visitation, withdrawals and pollution, which lead to their fragmentation and loss of functionalities.
Faced with these upheavals, it is essential to be able to globally strengthen the resilience of the regional territory and its ecological functionalities, by ensuring their restoration while reducing sources of pressure.

Local authorities and their groupings (notably mixed syndicates), public establishments, public interest groups, natural area managers, associations, businesses.

• Geographic: the operations planned in the project must be carried out within the administrative perimeter of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.
• Specific themes: Land acquisitions: natural areas with high stakes with the obligation to establish a multi-year management plan within two years following the acquisition or to commit the acquired property to a protection status. The durability and purpose of the natural areas of the zones acquired with regional support must be guaranteed. The acquisition must be carried out by a public structure or associative managers of protected areas.
