Support for local authorities' action in favor of air quality -AACT-AIR

Eligible studies in AACT-AIR 2026 aim to develop action programs to achieve the objectives set by 2030, or even by 2050 for WHO recommendations. These action programs can feed into local roadmaps to be developed within the framework of the revised "Ambient Air Quality" Directive. They can be based on the work developed within the framework of the Territorial Climate-Air-Energy Plan (PCAET), the Air Quality Action Plan (PAQA), as well as on prospective data from the Atmospheric Protection Plan (PPA) where applicable.

The studies will include two components: a "review" component and an "objectives and trajectory" component. They may include quantitative health impact assessments (EQIS). These make it possible to calculate the magnitude of the impact of air pollution on health and/or the expected health benefits of different scenarios for reducing pollution levels within a given population.

The study leader will most often be a local authority. However, in cases where the study includes methodological development or focuses on an innovative approach, the project may be led by an association, a public institution, or even a private company.
