ADEME supports projects that improve outdoor air quality. These may concern studies, communication, events, or investments.
Actions supported by ADEME will aim to reduce NO₂, PM10, PM2.5 particles, or O₃, but they may also concern other regulated pollutants – NMVOCs (non-methane volatile organic compounds) or PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons).
Targeted projects are those:
- fitting into a structured action program aimed at improving air quality in the territory (e.g., multi-year programming, reproducibility, clearly defined objectives, anticipation of the 2030 European air quality directive...). The expected gains in air quality (NO₂, particles, O₃ or other pollutants) will be clearly defined in relation to the territory's situation;
- concerning biomass combustion, urban planning and development, business mobility, and logistics.
Biomass combustion and air quality:
- Domestic wood heating: animation/awareness/communication campaigns for individuals and/or professionals not linked to the establishment of an Air-Wood fund.
