Improve the pollinating potential of bees

Objective: To modify beekeeping practices to better serve plant biodiversity in large crop areas and in areas of biodiversity interest.

The principle of the operation contributes to a change in practices aimed at improving the pollinating potential of domestic bees by modifying beekeeping practices to better serve biodiversity. This operation consists of maintaining a number of bee colonies (hives) on the farm. The specifications concern the modification of beekeeping practices to better serve biodiversity. In particular, a part of the apiaries must be placed in so-called "areas of interest for biodiversity", identified at the regional level.

From the point of view of beekeeping practices, the choice of a location by a beekeeper is reasoned in relation to the objective (honey flow, bee feeding, overwintering, pollination). In the case of a honey flow, the beekeeper takes into account the resource in the territory and adjusts the colony load according to the conditions of this honey flow and the nectar potential of the sector.
