Developing agricultural projects in Seine Aval

The LEADER program, an axis of the EAFRD (European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development) is a European initiative that stands for "Liaisons Entre Actions de Développement de l'Économie Rurale" (Links Between Actions for the Development of the Rural Economy). It was established in Europe in 1991 as part of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and in Ile-de-France and Seine-Aval since 2007.

The objective of a LEADER program is to foster structuring agricultural projects in a given territory through networking of people and organizations involved in rural development. This local partnership between the public, private, and civil sectors is called a Local Action Group (LAG).

The LEADER approach in a territory means a certain autonomy for the LAG in developing a strategy adapted to the local context. It allows for the support of pilot projects, through grants, whether they are led by public actors, private actors, or associations.

The LEADER program in Seine Aval is supported by the Association for Sustainable Agricultural Development in Seine Aval (ADADSA). For the 2014-2020 period, the scope of action covers 66 out of the 73 municipalities of the GPS&O urban community. The allocated budget is €1,382,000.
