CARRY OUT SILVICULTURAL IMPROVEMENT WORKS IN MY PUBLIC FOREST

Objectives

• As part of the implementation of its policy in favor of the forest-wood sector, the Department's support to public forest owners aims to finance the implementation of silvicultural improvement works in order to produce quality wood, as part of sustainable forest management.
• This mechanism is complementary to the regional mechanism "Carry out silvicultural works in my forest".

• Improve the quality of forest stands,
• Generate quality timber for the processing sector,
• Maintain the production and protection functions of public forests,
• Promote the adaptation of stands to climate change,
• Maintain the societal function of public forests by welcoming users,

Eligible operations

Silvicultural works presenting the following characteristics are supported:

– stand improvement works involving a coherent unit of at least 2 ha in area, belonging to one or more owners engaged in sustainable forest management certification processes: clearing or and thinning of natural deciduous or coniferous seedlings, silvicultural intervention in irregular or uneven-aged forests (including superficial scraping-stripping work in gaps with a spider shovel), p…
