PROMOTING THE FOREST-WOOD SECTOR TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC

Objectives

The departmental strategy aims to strengthen the local wood sector during ongoing transitions, to maintain economic activity in rural areas, while encouraging owners to manage their forests sustainably, with a view to adapting to climate change, preserving biodiversity, and protecting the forest heritage of our territory.

It is also fundamental to communicate on the multifunctionality of forests to combat certain prejudices, by opening a space for dialogue between forest users and forest management professionals.

• Raising public awareness of the multifunctionality of the forest,
• Raising public awareness of silviculture and the sustainable forest management of our forests,
• Presenting the challenges to the general public
• Promoting the use of local wood to the general public in order to ensure non-relocatable local jobs
