Safeguarding churches, protected as historical monuments or not protected

The departmental council's participation concerns the following types of buildings: churches protected as historical monuments, classified or listed, and unprotected churches. Applications must relate to a global safeguarding project that must correspond to a restoration project, per building. This safeguarding operation can be phased over several years (for a total amount of at least €20,000 excluding VAT for works). For this restoration program, the departmental council commits on an annual basis.

How to benefit from the aid?

1 – Opening a file:

►For buildings protected as historical monuments (classified and listed), the owner sends the Departmental Council the departmental aid application form detailing the church renovation project with the architectural diagnosis (Stap or other) and a copy of the grant application file submitted to the DRAC. Upon receipt of the application, an acknowledgment of receipt letter is sent to the project owner, indicating whether their project is admissible or not by the Departmental Council.

► For unprotected buildings, the aid application should be sent to the Departmental Council (contact details of the services below), using the application form.
