ADEME invites project leaders to engage in an "EnR'Choix" type approach, prioritizing sobriety, the pooling of production means, and the mobilization of certain RES&R.
Thus, before making an investment in renewable or recovered heat, the project leader must demonstrate that the following points have been taken into account:
- Reduction of need: reflection and implementation of sobriety and energy efficiency measures on buildings or processes before sizing the geothermal plant.
- Pooling of needs: connection to an existing virtuous heat network when possible, or study of the potential for creating a heat network to pool the renewable heat production tool across several buildings.
- Waste heat recovery: study of locally available waste heat sources and their suitability for needs.
- Consideration of other locally available RES: study of geothermal and solar thermal potential and their suitability for needs (alone or in addition to biomass).
- Biomass is an abundant, but limited, renewable energy source, so it is important to use it optimally and where it is the most relevant energy to meet needs.
